Watching

Classic films, slow attention.

I like films that reward rewatching: strong writing, moral tension, texture, patience, and performances that do not need explanatory essays attached to them. This section will grow into a personal map of cinema I return to.

What I look for

  • Character before spectacle
  • Scenes that trust silence
  • Films anchored in a specific place and time
  • Stories with residue: they stay with you after the credits

Why keep a page for this?

Because cinema is one of the better ways to sharpen taste without reducing everything to productivity. Also because the internet is too quick, and old films are often not.
